Make Your Own Puffy Paint with Shaving Cream

So, Ive been thinking a lot about being quarantined with our children during this time. As I wrote the post I shared on Facebook yesterday, I realized that so parents might be struggling to find something fun to do with the kids. That’s where I got the idea to put some of the fun and creative things that I have done in my many years of childcare to good use. I’ve decided that I will try to post a fun craft or activity that we can do with our kids each day. My focus will be on crafts/activities with things most of us probably already have at home. So today I want to share how to make your own puffy paint. Let’s get started.

This is a super easy and fun craft BUT it can get a little messy! You’ll probably want to have a towel nearby. My kids love this paint and I love how it dries. This paint is super fluffy and anyone can make it. I’ve even made some cute spring weather coloring pages that you can print out and paint on.

Ingredients to make you own puffy paint

You’ll also need a couple household items.

  • Bowl for mixing together glue and shaving cream
  • spoon or Popsicle stick to mix the paint
  • small bowls or cups to mix the paint in

To begin, you will need to put equal amounts of glue and shaving cream into your bowl. This step is not an exact science just eyeball it and get close. Then, mix them together.

If you are using one color, just add food coloring to the bowl. If you want multiple colors (like we did) split the mixture into the number of bowls or cups you need to make the colors you want.
